The B.E.T. Curse

The B.E.T. Curse is real. If you thought they just had terrible programming, think again. For some reason artists who emerge from obscurity and appear on B.E.T. wind up dead. Has anyone else noticed how bad things happen to artists who have been off the scene for a while then re-emerge on B.E.T.?

• Rick James died shortly after he appeared on the B.E.T. Awards in '04
•  Teena Marie who also made the appearance with Rick James in '04 died a month shy of a year later after appearing on B.E.T.'s Celebration of Gospel in '09.
•  El Debarge relapsed shortly after appearing on the B.E.T. Awards in June '10
• And most recently, Heavy D died less than a month after appearing on the B.E.T. Hip-Hop Awards last month.

The Madden curse ain't got nothing on the B.E.T. curse. If any artist that hasn't been on the music scene for a while gets a call to do the B.E.T. Awards they should turn it down FLAT!
